Carter Holt Harvey Building Supplies is Australasia’s premier manufacturer of wood based building materials and a leading supplier of these products and other building materials to the trade in New Zealand.
Formed in 2007, it consolidates all of Carter Holt Harvey’s building supplies businesses into a single business comprising three units - Woodproducts Australia, Woodproducts New Zealand and Carters.
The business has total sales of approximately A$2.1 billion and employs more than 5,000 people in Australia and New Zealand.

With a strong focus on customer service, quality and compliance, Carter Holt Harvey Building Supplies holds a position as a major supplier to all of the leading building material distribution companies in the Australasian industry.
All our products are manufactured from sustainable plantation radiata pine grown in accordance with recognised environmental standards including FSC, AFS and New Zealand’s Resource Management Act. We are strong supporters of environmentally sustainable forestry practices.
Investment in the business maintains our low cost position and allows development of new products and solutions for our customers. These include PortalSuite, R flor (Australia only) and FloorSuite.
Major research and development projects include the Strategic Timber Investment Corporation initiative to develop technologies that will encourage construction of multi-story wood-based structures.
We also support the development of industry wide initiatives through the Wood Processors Association in New Zealand and A3P in Australia. We provide funding and support for the NZ Wood and Wood Naturally campaigns that educate consumers about the environmental benefits of wood products.
